Victorian Epaulettes are constructed differently to 18th C epaulettes. A metal or rigid card body is underneath the shoulder strap. Bullions, spun on wire, are fixed rigidly, often with a fixed cloth fan beneath to hold their shape. Bullion ends are wired to hold them in position. These epaulettes have a fully embroidered body rather than plain lace straps. Hand made in the UK with real gold and silver threads, these are not cheap Asian imports. Prices from ?600.00
