British Foot Guard  officer's bullion epaulette of the mid Peninsula period (1808-15)

Bullion drop epaulette with embroidered cresent ends , plain lace strap (on canvas) and beaded edge and padded silk crescent beneath bullions.
5 1/2" long by approximately 2 1/4" wide.   2 1/2" bullions.

British  Foot Guard officer's bullion epaulette of the mid Peninsula period (1808-15)

Napoleonic  epaulettes were constructed with a lace strap and bullion drops over a finer bullion under layer.
Regimental  lace body on a canvas backing with beaded edge purl work.  Padded crescent with border.

Flexible canvas body to  allow the epaulette to  form  the correct curved shap  when worn. 
Tape straps for shoulder eyelet mounting.
Padded silk crescent below bullions
Blue doeskin cloth backing

Hand made  in England with real gilt/silver  lace and bullions.

1st  Foot Guards:  Heavy gold/blue beaded edge and  crescent, with purl border.  Garter Star
2nd Foot Guards:  Double medium beaded edge with blue silk centre. Fine  purl cresent.  Garter Star
3rd Foot Guards:  Heavy gold/blue beaded edge and crescent, with purl  border.  Thistle Star
