A style of knapsack used in various forms by british troops from the 1760's to the end of the napoleonic wars.

Made of painted linen with pipeclayed leather straps. Horn buttons.

This style of knapsack lasted untill the end of the Napoleonic wars. Though replaced by the often misidentified 'Trotter' pack, it continued to remain in service with many troops.
