Commonly known as the 'Belgic' shako, this is the 1812 Cap.
Introduced in 1812 to replace the earlier Stovepipe cap of 1800-1812.
Hand blocked in a single 120 gm felt with attached front plate. Edge bound with worsted tape. Leather sweatband with linen adjuster. Rear leather falling sun guard.
Leather peak, cocade and with worsted cords with twin tassels.
Worsted woolen plume in centre and flank company colours
Optional extras include small brass bugle or grenade badge on the cocade for flank company units.
Front plate the sheild shaped 1812 plate, with central GR device. Optional regimental numbered plate are available to commission.
Brass plated copper.
